Care Instructions

Filling/Changing Ink Colours:

  • Unscrew to remove the barrel from the grip section and access the converter.
  • Place the fountain pen nib fully into warm water. Flush the nib by twisting/untwisting the converter until the water runs clear.
  • Allow 1 day to dry.
  • Fill a new colour by fully submerging the nib and feeder into the ink, then draw the ink into your pen but twisting the converter until you’ve reached the top position.


Notes:

  • For heavily saturated inks and darker tones, or clogged nibs, you may need to soak the grip/feeder in water overnight
  • It is normal for some air bubbles to enter the converter when refilling ink

I like FWP fountain pen inks despite they are a little "pale". The way of packing goods by the warehouse in Germany is horrible. Inks are not protected enough and it was enormous luck that the bottles did not break.

Being more of a painter than a writer, getting the accompanying fountain pen in the Fluttering hearts line wasn't really on my to do list. When it briefly came back in stock I took a chance - and I'm so happy I did. This pen now follows me everywhere in my art brush pouch and it's a lovely tool to have when writing greeting cards or just writing down my thoughts. I've never really been a fan of fountain pens, they seem finicky and temperamental and the ones I've had have always felt rather cheap. Then again, the ones I've had have had plastic bodies while this is solid aluminium which gives it a very nice feel. The pen is smaller and Lighter than expected but good for someone like me who is always on the go. The etching around the grip is crisp and provides friction. I will be getting a sleeve so I don't accidentally scratch it since it only came with it's cardboard box. Which in itself is half the joy since it matches perfectly with the ink carriage and fluttering hearts ink. Very happy with my non planned pen.
